Deploying Release Radar to AWS Bedrock AgentCore
Description and use
Deploy Release Radar to AWS Bedrock AgentCore using the CLI, keeping the package under 250 MB for fast deployment, managing credentials, and monitoring via logs and traces.
Problem
Deploying a lightweight dependency‑audit agent to production without custom backend plumbing.
Outcome
Release Radar runs on Bedrock AgentCore with minimal deployment time after first run, automatic scaling, and built‑in observability. Deployment size limits and credential handling are key considerations.
Workflow
- 1. Ensure package <250MB by excluding heavy deps like numpy or torch.
- 2. Run
agentcore validateto check config. - 3. Deploy with
agentcore deploy– first run provisions CDK stack, subsequent runs replace S3 asset. - 4. Add credentials with
agentcore add credentialsand redeploy to expose GITHUB_TOKEN to runtime. - 5. Invoke agent with
agentcore invokeand monitor logs withagentcore logsor traces withagentcore traces list/get. - 6. Inspect trace to verify tool calls and order.
Evidence
Release Radar has only two dependencies: "bedrock-agentcore" and "strands-agents".
agentcore deploy provisions CDK infrastructure and takes a few minutes. Later deployments only replace the S3 asset, which is much faster.
