I Made a Claude Code Plugin So You Never Merge Code You Don’t Understand
Description and use
Comprende lets developers explain and verify Claude‑generated code before merging, reducing the risk of merging code they don’t understand.
Problem
Developers often merge code they cannot fully explain, leading to unexpected failures.
Outcome
Teams can merge code only after demonstrating understanding, reducing accidental bugs and improving code quality.
Workflow
- 1. Claude writes code while explaining key parts.
- 2. Developer controls explanation depth with commands like "explain more" or "just build".
- 3. Before opening a pull request, Claude initiates an ownership gate check.
- 4. Claude asks 3‑6 targeted questions about the change.
- 5. If a question is answered incorrectly, Claude explains and asks a new question.
- 6. Developer writes a pull request summary in their own words.
- 7. Claude saves a report and commits it with the code.
- 8. CI blocks the merge until the check is completed.
Evidence
AI can write a whole feature in minutes. You ask, it builds, the tests pass, and you click approve.
Comprende has two parts.
While Claude writes code, it explains the important parts: new APIs you might not know, tricky logic that isn't obvious, risky stuff, like security or data loss.
Before you open a pull request, Claude asks you a few questions to make sure you understand your change. No answers, no merge.
If you skip the check: Claude won't push your code, git won't push it either, CI blocks the merge.
Inside Claude Code (you need Node.js 20+): /plugin marketplace add AbdulrahmanMasoud/comprende /plugin install comprende@comprende
