Description and use

Ottoch lets users securely and locally query databases with natural language, receiving answers and the generated SQL without sending data to external services.

Users need a way to query databases using natural language without exposing raw SQL or relying on external APIs.

Outcome

Ottoch enables secure, local natural language querying of multiple database types, eliminating the need for external API keys and providing transparency by showing the generated SQL.

Workflow

• Clone the Ottoch demo repo
• Navigate to the project directory
• Run docker compose up -d to start the app and six pre‑seeded databases
• Open the web UI in a browser
• Enter a natural language question (e.g., "How many orders this month?")
• Review the returned answer and the generated SQL query
