Program an ESP32 without writing code or installing any tools: a browser flash, Claude, and a macro that runs on the board

Описание и применение

ESP32 программируется без кода и IDE: прошивка через браузер, подключение к Wi‑Fi по USB, создание и запуск макроса через Claude, который мигает встроенным светодиодом пять раз.

Задача

Developers want to program an ESP32 to control hardware (e.g., a relay) without writing code, compiling, or installing IDEs, and without wiring additional components before testing.

Результат

The ESP32 is programmed to blink its built‑in LED five times without any local IDE or code, using only a browser, a free Synacl account, and Claude AI.

Рабочий процесс

  • Flash Synacl gateway firmware from synacl.com/flash using Web Serial API.
  • Register the gateway in Synacl app, provide Wi‑Fi credentials over USB.
  • Verify gateway comes online in Synacl dashboard.
  • Add Synacl MCP endpoint as a custom connector in Claude.
  • Approve required permissions, ensuring ‘Run macros’ is enabled.
  • Ask Claude to create a device on GPIO 2 and a Blink macro that toggles it five times.
  • Review the generated macro in Synacl Macros page.
  • Mark the macro as agent‑runnable in the macro editor.
  • Ask Claude to run the macro; observe status transitions and LED toggling.
  • Confirm macro completion and output in Synacl dashboard.

Доказательства

You can get an ESP32 reading a light sensor and pulsing a relay without opening an IDE, writing a sketch, or compiling anything.

Flash the gateway firmware from the browser… About 25 seconds at 460800 baud; no toolchain, no account yet.

Claude creates the device and the macro, compiles and pushes it, and tells you the config resend that puts them on the board is your click.

Ask again. The gateway confirms the run started, the status goes requested → started → done, and the output pin toggles five times.
