Description and use

Here's a brief summary of the stoplightio/spectral project:

Stoplightio/spectral is an open-source, flexible linter for JSON and YAML files, specifically designed for creating automated style guides. It offers built-in support for OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, and Arazzo, making it an ideal tool for developers to add AI capabilities to their projects without starting from scratch. With its high production readiness and strong ecosystem signals, spectral is a promising candidate for serious pilots and adoption.

**Value Proposition:** The value of stoplightio/spectral lies in its ability to streamline the development process by providing automated style guides and AI capabilities, making it easier for developers to prototype AI features, build RAG or agent workflows, and evaluate model tooling.

**Practical Adoption Path:** To adopt stoplightio/spectral, developers can start by evaluating its implementation signals, such as API/SDK/CLI, language metadata, or focused topics. They can then integrate the tool into their existing workflows and explore its features, such as support for OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, and Arazzo. As they become more familiar with the tool, they can begin to leverage its AI capabilities to enhance their development process.

**Production Readiness:** With 3151 GitHub stars, 284 forks, and recent

Problem
