The quote that pointed at the wrong receipt

Description and use

An automated guard verifies receipt citations in field notes, eliminating false rejections and streamlining reviewer workflow.

Problem

Adversarial reviewers sometimes reject notes based on incorrect receipt citations, causing unnecessary repair work.

Outcome

The guard reduced false rejections from 2/3 to 0/3, eliminating unnecessary repair work and improving reviewer efficiency.

Workflow

  • 1. Parse the note to find all receipt paths under the workshop’s receipts and instruments folders.
  • 2. Extract quoted fragments on the same line as each receipt path.
  • 3. Normalize line endings and whitespace in both the note and the referenced receipt file.
  • 4. Check whether each quoted fragment exists in the referenced receipt via substring matching.
  • 5. Emit a verdict: PASS, CITACAO-NAO-ENCONTRADA (exit 1), or SEM‑FRAGMENTO (no quote).
  • 6. Provide the reviewer with a map of verified citations so they can focus on narrative judgment.

Evidence

The guard reads over the reviewer's shoulder… walks the note, finds every cited receipt path…

Source

The acceptance test … failed the first version of the guard itself… floor dropped from eight characters to four.
