Turning LogRocket Sessions into Searchable Engineering Memory with Cognee
Description and use
Connecting LogRocket to Cognee lets engineers quickly find session and error data, unifying information from multiple sources into a single searchable knowledge base.
Problem
Frontend incidents are scattered across support, LogRocket, issue trackers, and chat threads, making operational knowledge hard to search.
Outcome
The connector enables engineers to query aggregated LogRocket session metadata and issue reports in Cognee, reducing manual lookup time and creating reusable incident knowledge.
Workflow
- 1. Install connector dependencies with
uv sync --locked - 2. Create a
.envfile withLOGROCKET_API_KEY,LOGROCKET_ORGANIZATION, andLOGROCKET_PROJECT - 3. Run
uv run --env-file .env cognee-logrocket inspect-capabilities --organization <org> --project <proj> --jsonto verify MCP contract - 4. Optionally probe responses with
cognee-logrocket probe-response - 5. Import data using
remember_logrocketwith desired resources and lookback windows - 6. Search Cognee dataset with queries such as "What errors affect checkout sessions?"
Evidence
Frontend incidents rarely live in one place. The report starts in support, the browser details live in LogRocket, the release context is in an issue tracker, and the reasoning disappears into a chat thread after the incident is closed.
My MergeTober contribution is a LogRocket data-source connector for Cognee, an open-source memory layer. It imports useful session metadata and issue reports through LogRocket's official MCP server, converts them into deterministic documents, and makes those documents available to Cognee search.
The connector deliberately does not ingest replay payloads, DOM recordings, HAR data, or request bodies.
The package also includes inspection and safe-probe commands for checking tool schemas and response envelopes before a production import.
