Catalog, MCP, skills and AI companies
AtlasRepo has several views because a repository, an MCP server, a reusable agent skill and an AI-company template are different decisions.
| Section | Use it for | Check before adopting |
|---|---|---|
| Open repos | Finding self-hostable software | License, activity, deployment fit, maintainer signals |
| MCP catalog | Finding agent-facing servers | Published status, capabilities, compatible clients, risk notes |
| Skills catalog | Finding reusable agent workflows | Source, license, install metadata, compatibility and risk |
| AI companies | Studying role and workflow templates | Required tools, environment requirements, safety notes and manual setup |
Research sequence
- Search broadly; prefer a clear outcome over a vague category.
- Filter the shortlist against your constraints: language, hosting, budget, security and operations.
- Open the upstream source. AtlasRepo metadata helps you triage; the upstream project remains the authority.
- Run a bounded proof of concept with non-production data.
- Document why a candidate is accepted, deferred or rejected.
Install metadata is not execution
AtlasRepo presents installation steps for review. Do not run copied commands or import a third-party MCP/skill until you have checked its source, permissions and secrets handling.
